This painting tells the story of being swept away. I chose to experiment with different ways to apply paint to the canvas, to bring texture and depth to the imagery. I have a deep respect for the power of nature, and the swirling sandstorms of the Sahara embodied the sensations I experienced while exploring this new terrain.
