This painting is a love song to the bush. I feel a kinship with trees that calms and invigorates me, and a deep respect for the land and the life it yields. I went out for a stroll one chilly morning in Metricup and came across a nest of the most vibrant mushrooms flourishing around the base of a majestic Ghost gum tree. I am often inspired by the patterns, forms, and colours of nature. There are not many bush walks I take where nature doesn’t surprise me with one remarkable gift or another. Isn’t she wondrous!
