This painting tells a story of reverence for our planet’s true royalty. In 2017, I had the privilege of exploring the Bwindi Forest in Uganda with my family, where we came face to face with a family of silverback gorillas. I could see a soulful wisdom in their eyes that touched me deeply.

Nature’s calls for respect are ringing all around us. We are privileged to enjoy Earth’s bounties, and we all need to remember that while we may be the most demanding inhabitants, we are not the ones in charge.

If you look closely you will see the gorilla family amongst the trees. The brightness on the canvas is both the light that shimmered upon me through the dense impenetrable forest and and the hope I hold for the future of the silverbacks and all of Earth’s inhabitants. (Tasmanian Oak Frame).
