This painting is a memoir of falling in love. When I first met the man who would become my husband, he would take me walking in a place called Jamberoo, south of Sydney. Meadows of wildflowers enveloped us as we left the well-trodden paths. Grasses and blossoms witnessed our early flutters of attraction grow into a love that has held us steady through many a winter.

There is a fluidity to wildflowers that I find evokes love. They sway and bend in the wind, showing vulnerability and resilience in ever changing patterns. Together, they are so beautiful.
