This one of a pair of paintings is a mirror to my artistic journey thus far. There are days when I feel like the small business owner that I am, a creative and hard-working woman pursuing a late-blooming painting hobby on the side. And then there are days when I fully inhabit my identity as an emerging artist. It’s a wild ride, existing authentically in both of these lives that intertwine, compete against and complement each other. I am never short of inspiration for my painting, I have more ideas than canvas or colour. But when I tap into a raw feeling about something, I embrace the wildness. I celebrate the reality that we all can be more than one story, we can live more than one life.
