This painting tells a story of appreciating life’s simple pleasures. My favourite is coffee. It’s that scintillating aroma, the warmth of that first fresh sip, the clink of spoon to mug, the deep inhale that kickstarts my day. I love it. I didn’t sit down to paint a coffee story, but when I let my paints tell the story I was feeling that day, it was an appreciation for this ritual of self-care that surfaced.

Sometimes we need to stop and express gratitude for the little things we take for granted every day. To really feel the joy a simple indulgence can bring. What comes to the surface when you think about your favourite simple pleasure?
