'The Pier'
‘The Pier’ (2024), 80cm x 80cm acrylic on canvas, charcoal.
The Pier was inspired by that in-between place where land meets water—where things slow down, shift, and open up a little. There’s something about a pier that’s always felt symbolic to me. It’s a threshold, a lookout, a pause. You’re standing over the water, not quite out at sea but not fully on shore either.
This piece plays with that feeling of stillness and movement at the same time. You’ll see suggestions of structure—vertical lines like posts or walkways—and soft washes of blue and green, like reflections shifting in the water. Scribbled marks hint at things half-seen, like boats passing in the distance or wind-blown shadows. It’s peaceful, a bit nostalgic, and leaves space for whatever you want to bring to it.
It’s for anyone who finds clarity near the water… or just loves that quiet moment at the end of the pier.
