'Somebody to love'

‘Somebody to love’ (2027), 120cm x 200 acrylic on canvas, ink, oil sticks.

‘Somebody to love’ (2026) acrylic on canvas, oil pastel, ink. This painting is my tribute to the one and only Freddie Mercury and the timeless music of Queen. Inspired by Somebody to love’ the song Freddie once said was an even greater piece of writing than Bohemian Rhapsody—the work is filled with movement, energy and layers of sound. Splashes of yellow, Freddie’s favourite colour, weave through the composition alongside musical notes and the suggestion of a guitar, echoing the passion and power of one of rock’s greatest voices.

Like the song itself, this piece is about longing, connection and finding beauty in the chaos. It’s a celebration of Freddie’s extraordinary talent and the music that continues to bring people together, decades later.
