'Sky full of stars'
‘Sky full of stars’ (2025) 80cm x 80cm acrylic on canvas, graphite, oil pastel.
This painting takes its name from the Coldplay song—the one that makes you feel wide open and a little weightless. Sky Full of Stars is about that mix of melancholy and awe you get when you look up at the night sky and everything feels a bit bigger than you are.
The paintings hint at city buildings—maybe rooftops or windows—bathed in soft twilight blues and pale lilacs, with little glints of white like stars just starting to show. There's a sense of quiet, but also movement, like the city hasn’t quite gone to sleep yet. You might find yourself imagining you’re looking out from an apartment window, or walking home late, with music in your ears and your thoughts drifting.
I wanted this one to feel dreamy but grounded. A night sky that’s not out in the wilderness—but right above us, in the middle of our messy, beautiful lives.
