Sea Glass’ (2022), 80cm x 80cm acrylic on canvas, graphite stick, oil pastel, gloss varnish.

This one’s called Sea Glass, inspired by those tiny treasures you find on the shoreline—weathered, softened bits of glass that the ocean has tumbled and shaped over time. There’s something magical about them. Each piece starts out broken, but ends up smooth and beautiful, with a kind of quiet history behind it.

I tried to bring that feeling into the painting—soft edges, cool ocean tones, and layered textures that feel like sand, salt, and time have had their say. There are deep navies and turquoise peeking through foggy greys and sun-bleached neutrals, with scratchy marks and worn-down lines that give it a lived-in, coastal feel.

Sea Glass is for anyone who sees beauty in imperfections, and who’s drawn to things that tell their story quietly, with softness and depth.
