‘Like a Prayer’ is my contemporary abstract take on fabulous Madonna. The title song was released in 1989 and is still a favourite of mine. I wanted to capture that feeling of music, mystery and emotion all coming together — a little bit rebellious, a little bit romantic and completely unapologetic. Madonna loved black, gold and pink. There’s a hint of the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra and the painting features words woven throughout are a reminder that, just like a prayer, sometimes we don’t really know where life is taking us… we simply have to trust the journey.
