‘Le Jardin’ (2021), 30”x30”, 76.2 x 76.2cm, Acrylic on canvas.
This one’s called Le Jardin — French for The Garden, but it feels more like a garden of emotion than one you’d find in your backyard. The colours burst and tangle like petals, leaves, and overgrown thoughts. Nothing’s perfect, nothing’s tidy, and that’s exactly the point.
When I was painting this, I imagined a garden at the height of summer — wild and full of life, where everything’s growing a little out of control, but in the best way. Layers build on layers, like memories, scents, and stories all swirling together.
It’s a place to get lost for a bit. A reminder that beauty doesn’t have to be neat — sometimes it’s just about the feeling.
