‘D'Entrecasteaux Channel’ (2020), 46.5cm x 46.5cm, acrylic on canvas.
D’Entrecasteaux Channel is my take on that stunning stretch of water between Bruny Island and mainland Tasmania — a place where the blues seem deeper, the greens more vibrant, and the air somehow cleaner. I wanted to capture that feeling of drifting along the channel, watching the light shift over the water, and spotting little flashes of life and movement beneath the surface. It’s a painting about stillness and flow at the same time — like the Channel itself, calm on top but full of quiet energy underneath.
