'Harvest Moon'
‘Harvest Moon’ (2022), 80cm x 80cm acrylic on canvas, graphite, gloss varnish.
This painting is called Harvest Moon, named after the beautiful Neil Young song that’s always stayed with me. There’s something timeless and grounding about it—gentle, steady, and full of quiet emotion—and that’s exactly what I wanted to capture in this piece.
The painting is layered with rich, earthy tones—burnt oranges, soft copper, deep navy, and moody teal—like moonlight falling over a late-autumn landscape. It has a rhythm to it, like something slow and steady unfolding under a night sky. The darker shapes feel like silhouettes, while the brighter streaks hint at something glowing just out of reach.
Harvest Moon is about stillness, change, and that warm kind of nostalgia that sneaks in when the seasons shift. It’s for those moments that feel tender, a little raw, and lit from within.
