‘Forest Dwellers II, (2026), 73cm x 73cm acrylic on canvas.
These paintings are a tribute to the Australian bush — the quiet magic, the hidden movement, the feeling that something is always watching, rustling, living just beyond sight. When I painted these side by side, I wasn’t trying to create trees and leaves in a literal way; I was painting the energy of the bush — the layers of light through gum leaves, the scratch of branches, the soft blue haze of distance, and those flashes of golden sun hitting bark and earth.
It’s that peaceful, slightly wild feeling you get when you are standing right in the middle of it. ‘Forest Dweller I and II are my tribute to that deep, grounding love I have for the Australian landscape — raw, beautiful, and full of life.
