'Deep'

$0.00

‘Deep’ 110×110cm acrylic on canvas, oil pastel, graphite, (Tasmanian oak frame).

On the edge of an ocean no longer accessible. The eyes of a people clinging to their land.  Their home, their history, their everything.  A land as vast as the ocean. Olive trees centuries old. Recipes passed down through generations. ‘Deep’ is a stirring and emotive painting that encapsulates the aspirations and resilience of the Palestinian people. The artwork serves as a visual metaphor for hope, renewal, and the possibility of peace amidst adversity. The colours reminiscent of the deep waters that characterise the Palestinian landscape. These colours are a symbol of life, growth, and the potential for new beginnings. The composition features elements representing heritage and peace, unity and connection, reflecting both the pain of loss and the profound desire to rebuild. A community coming together, forging bonds to create a brighter future. Ultimately, this painting stands as a testament to the power of art to convey messages of hope and perseverance. It serves as a reminder that despite the hardships faced, there is always a path to healing and reconstruction. ‘Deep’ not only resonates with the Palestinian experience but also connects with universal themes of resilience, encouraging people worldwide to reflect on the importance of empathy, understanding, and the commitment to peace.

This piece will be available for auction at the ‘Art for Aid’ exhibition being held at Holmes a Court Gallery
