‘A Quiet Place’ (2025), 80cm x 80cm acrylic on canvas, graphite.
This painting is a testament to the transcendence of true love. My father passed away in March, three weeks to the day after my mother left us. The sorrow of moving from having both of them to neither runs deep. And yet, their life forces, so tightly enmeshed that the power of their devotion reunited them on the other side, still runs through me. I talk to them now, in their quiet place, and am in awe of the love that remains.
Shortlisted for the Claremont Art Awards 2025.
