This painting tells the story of patient persistence. As I often do, I was listening to music as I began this piece, but no matter what I tried, I couldn’t get to that satisfying place of knowing the work is done. Instead of succumbing to frustration or self-doubt, I just walked away. For nearly a week I left the unfinished canvas up in my studio, waiting for it to speak to me and then it finally I was able to piece it together.
